How Favokin works

A short guide, topic by topic: what each thing is, how to do it and an example with numbers. It's the same help you'll find inside the app. The screenshots are of the app, which is in Spanish for now.

01

Getting started

Favokin is a scoreboard for the two of you. What you do around the house earns points; time for yourself is agreed and costs points. That way you can see how things are shared without arguing about it.

How to do it

  1. Create your account and choose «Create our home».
  2. At the end you get a code: share it with your partner.
  3. Your partner joins with «Use a code I received», and you're connected.
  4. Along the bottom: Home, Chores, the «+» to log something, Calendar and Stats.
  5. Wishes, vouchers and your shared goal live together, under the «+» or in the top-right menu, with Badges, Rules, Settings and Help.
  6. Until your partner joins, you can use the shopping list, the to-dos and the journal.

An example

Monday: you cook dinner (12 points) and put the laundry on (6): +18 points.

Your partner asks for 2 hours at the gym at 7pm: it costs them 3 points if you say yes.

On Home you both see your balances and how the week's going.

Good to know

  • You don't have to do everything on day one. Start with chores and the rest follows.
  • Nothing is lost over a slow day: the app doesn't punish.

02

Chores

Every household chore has a price in points. You add the ones you're going to do to your list (no negotiation there). When you finish one, you mark it; your partner confirms it and the points land in your balance.

How to do it

  1. In Chores, the «+» next to an idea puts it on today's list. One tap changes who does it: you, your partner or up for grabs.
  2. Done: «Mark», or the «+» at the bottom and «Log a finished chore». If it took more, «Extra effort» (+30 %); if you left it half done, «Partial» (−30 %).
  3. Your partner sees «Confirm» or «Dispute». If they say nothing within 24 hours, it counts anyway.
  4. If they dispute it, they can suggest fewer points or none. You accept their number or have the last word: a number between theirs and yours.
  5. In that last round your partner accepts your number or keeps theirs. Three rounds and it's done.

An example

Hoovering is worth 10 points.

With extra effort: 10 × 1.3 = 13 points. Partial: 10 × 0.7 = 7.

Your partner confirms it that afternoon: +13 points for you.

Good to know

  • Nobody confirms or disputes their own chores.
  • A correction can only lower the points, never raise them.
  • The same chore, at most 3 times a day per person.
  • In the latest activity you can say thanks (the heart) for your partner's chores, up to 5 a day.

03

Plans

A plan is time for you (dinner with friends, the gym, a trip) that your partner covers. You agree on it and, once accepted, it costs the person who asked.

How to do it

  1. In Plans (inside Chores), tap «+»: choose the type, which one exactly and a description.
  2. Not there? «Create new»: what type it is, a name and an icon. Your partner accepts it, suggests a different price or says no.
  3. Set when it is. If you've already done it, set the date it happened: it's logged all the same.
  4. Your partner accepts, declines or suggests another number. Three rounds at most: the third is the «Last round».
  5. In the last round it's accept or decline only. If you can't agree, whoever asked can close it by paying their partner's last number.

An example

Dinner with friends: Night out, 8 points base, +1 for dinner = 9. A Friday at 9pm, 2 hours, no kids.

9 × 1 (leisure) × 1.2 (evening) × 1 (short) × 1 (no kids) = 10.8 → 11 points.

Your partner counter-offers 14. You accept: you pay 14 points and you both earn 15 XP for agreeing.

Good to know

  • Closing it by paying earns no XP. Agreeing does.
  • You can offer something in return (a «compensation»): it lowers the price.
  • Each type has a base price (Night out 8, Trip 10, Special event 12…) and the details adjust it a little.

04

Our week

The Home card that counts what you do together. The streak is counted in weeks, and a week counts when you both chip in on 3 days.

How to do it

  1. A day counts if you log a chore, confirm one of your partner's, reply to a plan or say thanks.
  2. When you both reach 3 days, the streak adds a week.
  3. Every Monday you pick a mission out of three, and can change it until Tuesday at 23:59.
  4. Once you've reached it, it says «On track». It's counted when the week closes.
  5. Completing the mission earns 50 XP and a shield, if you have room. A shield saves your streak in a slow week.

An example

You: Monday, Wednesday and Saturday (3/3). Your partner: Tuesday and Thursday (2/3).

The week falls short, but you have a shield: it's used automatically and the streak stays at 5 weeks.

No shield? Complete the following week's mission and you get your 5 back.

Good to know

  • You can hold 3 shields; with levels, 4, 5 and 6.
  • Your best streak always stays on show. There are no «streak broken» alerts.

05

Levels and badges

You share a level that goes up with XP. There are 20 named levels, then Myth I, II, III… with no ceiling. You never go down a level.

How to do it

  1. XP comes by itself: points from confirmed chores, 15 per agreed plan, badges, missions (50), thanks (2) and wishes come true (20).
  2. You also get 2 XP for each day of your best daily streak.
  3. Badges (92, in 12 categories) unlock on their own. Under Badges you can see what's left and what it takes.
  4. Some levels come with rewards: more shields, more voucher redemptions and longer goals.

An example

One week: 60 points of confirmed chores + 2 agreed plans (30) + the mission (50) + 5 thanks (10) + 1 wish (20).

Total: 170 XP. From Encounter to Trust takes 100; to Companionship, 300.

The levels: Encounter, Trust, Companionship, Complicity, Refuge… up to Summit. Then, Myth.

Good to know

  • Breaking a streak costs no XP: your best one counts.

06

Wishes and vouchers

Three things in one place. Wishes: things you'd love, as a gift or to do together. Vouchers: treats priced in points. Goal: a prize for both of you for doing chores.

How to do it

  1. Wish: add it with its size. Your partner taps «I'm on it» (secretly, if they like) and then «Done!».
  2. When you confirm «Yes, it happened!», your partner earns its points.
  3. Voucher: suggest one («I pick the film») with its price. Your partner accepts it or suggests another.
  4. Redeeming spends your points; your partner marks it «Delivered». Cancel before that and you get them back.
  5. Goal: suggest a prize, how many chores between you and in how many days. Your partner accepts it.

An example

Wishes: small 5 points, medium 15, big 30.

Voucher «Saturday morning off» at 40 points: with 55 you redeem it and have 15 left.

Goal: 30 chores in 14 days for a dinner out. You're at 22 of 30. Nobody loses points over it.

Good to know

  • Each voucher can be redeemed twice a month per person (3, 4 and 5 with levels).
  • A goal that isn't reached says «Not this time». No blame.

07

Calendar

Your shared calendar, in layers: yours, your partner's, the family's and one for each child. Birthdays and your anniversary appear by themselves.

How to do it

  1. In Calendar, tap «+ Event». Add a title, day and time, and which layer it goes in.
  2. Under «Repeat», choose daily, weekly, monthly or yearly. When you change a series, choose: just this one, this and the following ones, or all.
  3. Mark it private if it's just yours: your partner will see «Busy».
  4. Tap the layers at the top to hide or show them.
  5. «+ Plan» asks for a plan on that day.
  6. «Connect another calendar» gives you a link to subscribe from Google, Apple or Outlook, and lets you import an .ics file.

An example

The little one's check-up on Thursday at 5pm, on their layer.

English on Tuesdays 6-7pm, «Every week»: every Tuesday appears.

One Tuesday there's no class: delete «just this one» and the rest stay.

Good to know

  • Who drops off and who picks up goes in the event, and can count as a chore.
  • The link is read-only and updates itself; if you lose it, create another and the old one stops working.

08

Recurring plans

What happens every week («Tuesday padel»), agreed once. Only the sessions that happen are charged, to whoever enjoys them.

How to do it

  1. In Calendar, open «Recurring plans» and «New plan».
  2. Add what it is, the first day, the time and the points per session (1 to 100).
  3. Your partner accepts, suggests another price or says no. Like plans, three rounds.
  4. When a session ends, the app asks «Did you go?». «Yes» charges it; «It didn't happen» doesn't.
  5. «Pause» and «End» take one tap. «Change price» is agreed the same way.

An example

Padel on Tuesdays 7-8:30pm, at 6 points a session.

In a month you confirm 3 Tuesdays out of 4: you pay 18 points.

You move to 8 points: sessions already charged stay at 6.

Good to know

  • If two sessions in a row don't happen, the app suggests pausing it.
  • While paused, nothing is asked or charged. Anything you don't confirm is never charged.

09

Seasons

Every 8 weeks a new season starts. It only adds up: each closed week adds points, and at the end you finish on Bronze, Silver, Gold or Diamond.

How to do it

  1. Each closed week adds the average of balance, consistency and agreement (0 to 100).
  2. Bronze: 2 weeks that count. Silver: 250 points. Gold: 400. Diamond: 550.
  3. Each season brings 5 challenges, the same for both of you. Each one completed earns a card for your album.
  4. The result is saved when the 8th week closes. Nothing is lost.

An example

A week with balance 80, consistency 70 and agreement 90: (80 + 70 + 90) / 3 = 80 points.

6 weeks like that: 480 points → Gold. With 7: 560 → Diamond.

Challenge «3 plans agreed first time»: on the third, the card is yours for good.

Good to know

  • A card you've earned is never taken away, even if the count changes later.
  • If you take a break, the thresholds drop in proportion.

How points are worked out

Points measure effort, not money. Chores add them to whoever does them; plans and vouchers spend them. If your balance dips below zero, chores even it out: that's all.

How to do it

  1. Chore: the chore's price × modifier (normal 1, extra effort 1.3, partial 0.7).
  2. Plan: the type's base price × kind × time of day × duration × kids.
  3. Kind: necessary 0.7 (health, admin, work) · sport 0.85 · leisure 1 · getaway 1.4.
  4. Time of day: morning (7-9:30am) 1.3 · daytime 1 · evening (5:30-9:30pm) 1.2 · night 1.2 · small hours 1.5.
  5. Duration: under 3 h 1 · up to 8 h 1.1 · up to 24 h 1.25 · longer 1.35. Kids: none 1 · one 1.4 · two 1.8 · three or more 2.2. Rounded to the nearest half point.

An example

Trip with friends: Trip, 10 points base, +3 = 13. Leaves Saturday at 10am, lasts 30 h, one child at home.

13 × 1 (leisure) × 1 (daytime) × 1.35 (over 24 h) × 1.4 (one child) = 24.57 → 24.5 points.

Before sending it, «See how it's worked out» shows the sum.

Good to know

  • You can change the multipliers together under Rules.
  • XP isn't points: points get spent; XP only goes up.
